  • Condition: Original lacquer on body and neck is 95% with a gleaming shine. (no freckling or corrosion , etc. ) There are some light feather/brush mark type scratches on one side of the bell (see 2nd to last photo. There are 2 very slight indentations on the bell see last photo. All pads (see photo) are in Excellent or New Condition (eleven new Music Medic leather pads were installed to bring it to Mint "leak-free" playing condition). The exterior of the case is conservatively rated as being in Very Good clean condition - the main issue is the back hinges are slighty loose and have some play in them.. The interior of the case is conservatively rated as only being in condition as there is a small 1/2 inch tear in the fabric lining.

    Description

    Upon taking possession, it played pretty well; but as a perfectionist, I wanted this instrument to be at its best before putting it up for sale. Given the fantastic condition of the original pads only 11 pads were less than perfect (i.e., slight leaks) and were replaced. The overhaul of this saxophone (July 2021) included
    1) Entire saxophone disassembled, sax body and neck ultrasonically cleaned with Tesch Classic Brass cleaning solution.
    2) Rods cleaned and nickel silver keys buffed and polished.
    3) Post screw and key hinge openings cleaned with pipe cleaners and given fresh Ultimax key oil
    4) Springs inspected and polished
    5) Eleven new MusicMedic leather pads were installed
    6) Felt pads, cork pads, and neck cork replaced as necessary
    7) After reassembly - entire sax checked for leaks - pads/keys adjusted to ensure proper seating/sealing then the instrument was play tested.
    To the best of my knowledge, it has resided in a non-smoking environment its entire life. With the Tesch ultrasonic cleaning, it is super clean inside and out. (see photo of stripped down saxophone body)

    t is being sold "As Is" but you would be hard pressed to find another in this condition at this price with this much information - no need to guess the condition of the sax body under the keys, how the pads look, or what work was done - the photos tell you the whole story).
