    Description

    This is a letter from Wm. Foresman & Bro., a grain and flour milling
    business that was based in Circleville, Ohio.
    William Foresman (1843-1921) was a prominent local businessman
    and landowner. Foresman is best remembered now for his donation of the
    Foresman Chimes. Installed
    in 1926
    in the Pickaway County Courthouse,
    these chimes are still played today.
    The letter is
    dated December 8, 1897, and is
    typed on a sheet of the company's stationery.
    The letter is addressed to
    J. R. Ruffin
    , an agent of the Norfolk & Western
    Railroad who was located in Columbus, Ohio.
    The letter is in good- condition, with creases where it was folded,
    some small staple holes at the top left, and some general wear.
