Vintage 1822 Church Member in Good Standing Letter

This is a nice old letter dated 1822 and written in ink by Stevens Jones the Church Clerk. The letter appears to be from Durham (NC?). The letter measures 8 by 13 inches. It's on thick stock paper that has turned color with age. The letter is beautifully written as they all were during this period. The letter is introducing a couple to another church and is praising these folks for being sound members. The members are Brother Asa Davis and Sister Anna his wife. This is a nice letter in good condition being very old and a wonderful read. One fold has a tear in the center but the letter is not falling apart. It is sound enough to open and refold. The ink is good and it is easy to read.
