    Description

    Up for auction is an extremely rare metal makeup compact made by Marhill.  I am not sure of the exact age but probably 1930's to 1950's, I don't think it was used much because most of the pressed powder is still in intact.  The metal Marhill compact still has is original paper foil label which reads. Marhill Fifth Avenue Genuine Cloisonne on the inside mirror.  The vintage metal compact features elegant Cloisonne Peacocks on the front and a gold colored back, as I said it still has its original label as well as mirror and powder pad.  The compact stands about 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" across the top.  There are NO chips cracks or repairs, but the thin protective shellac type of coating either did not come through very well at some of the edges when it was made and is thin, or it was slightly worn away due to years of handling and rubbing and gotten thin,  but it looks like to me how it was made, just not sure, I will let the new owner be the judge, but the metal Cloisonne is still about 98% to 99% intact (See pics 7 & 8) and only a couple of tiny pepper grain flakes of the Cloisonne in 1 minute spot worn (See pic 9).  This compact is so rare and the flaws so very minor that I am sure they will be forgiven.  I know this will be one of the rarest Marhill or vintage makeup compacts you will ever own, please view my other auctions for more unique items.  Shipping and handling for this auction will be .95 for the lower 48 states, Thank You!!!!
