The Vacu-Maid Metal Inlet is a microswitch inlet. This inlet has one pin inside the inlet, which allows the central vacuum system to automatically turn on when the hose is inserted into the inlet. This inlet is compatible with most hoses, with the exception of direct connect hoses.
The Vacu-Maid SF290 Back Plate should be used for proper installation. This inlet has a full metal door that is hinged to keep the door closed when not in use preventing loss of suction.
