Selmer Super Action 80 Soprano Saxophone - FLAWLESS!

I have been playing saxophones 42 years; in all this time, I have never seen a vintage horn this pristine!  It is a PREMIERE example of a closet horn.  It plays well, with that characteristic Selmer sound people love so much.  Coltrane, Joe Farrell, Branford and many other great soprano players played Selmers.

As you can see there is no missing lacquer, scratches, dings, dents or signs of repair.  I bought it from a pro who took immaculate care of his instruments. He primarily played clarinets, oboe, flute and the other saxes so my guess is he just didn't have time to get to his soprano!  Pads are in fine condition and I recently had it tweaked by my repairman, so it should be good to go out of the box
It has a sweet and medium-loud sonority at its "core."  It would be perfect for a big band, small jazz combo or Classical work. It pairs well with most mouthpieces I have tried.  NOTE: most sopranos ride sharp in the upper register; this one does NOT, so don't change your embouchure from tenor or alto.  Go figure - a soprano you can treat like a tenor!  lol.  The main reason I'm selling it is because I need to get a curved-neck soprano for the health of my OWN neck.  lol.
I pack like a fiend so it should get to you in good adjustment.  Still, things can get moved around in shipping so it's always good to have a good repairman give it a tweak when it arrives.
