SELMER PARIS MARK VI MONSTER TENOR SAXOPHONE

Description

Here's a Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone with the original case. This sweet tenor is ready to play. The horn possesses that quintessential Selmer tone and response that is so sought after.. The intonation is excellent throughout the entire range of the instrument. It is everything you'd want from a tenor. The instrument is in original lacquer. It is showing it's age. I'd estimate the lacquer at about 70%. It shows honest play wear over the last 50 years with plenty of wear, fleabites, scrapes, and bruises but not abused... just well used. I took the pictures outside to have the best lighting possible to show the horn. It is a battle axe. This instrument was owned by a gigging player who was also a master woodwind tech.  He kept the horn in good operation. He recorded three CD's with this horn. The pads on this horn are still supple with plenty of life left.
The neck is a Selmer Paris Super Action neck and not the original neck. It is well matched with this horn though with never an issue.
The past owner would replace pads, corks etc. as needed. As with any saxophone new or old, all of them eventually need pads, corks, regulation. I would estimate these pads at around half life depending on how much you play. If your looking for a beauty this is probably not your horn. The serial number is 226xxx. The only reason I'm selling it is because I have three tenors and am trying to cover the cost of a new baritone. Offers are welcome but I'll bet it will sell quickly at this price. The horn will be tightly packaged with plenty of bubble wrap. The original case is included and is road weary commensurate with the horn-with some duct tape around the edges. Also one of the handles is broken and needs replaced. I wanted yo use all 12 pics of the actual horn but if you would like to see a picture of the case just message me. No returns...
