130th Anniversary Saxophone from Selmer ParisLimited Edition Tribute to Adolphe Sax
Only 400 of these were made worldwide. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own a truly unique and collectable sax!
Celebrating their 130th Anniversary, Selmer Paris has paid tribute to the father of the saxophone, Adolphe Sax. This extremely limited production instrument is designed in the true homage of the vintage saxophone while merging with modern design in the 130th Anniversary model.
In the past, Selmer Paris has offered many different Limited Edition horns (Millenium Model, “Tribute to Bird” Series, etc…) that have, for the most part, been nothing more than cosmetic changes to existing models (different engraving, unique finish). With the 130th Anniversary model, Selmer Paris has designed a unique instrument that is not like anything that Selmer Paris has made before.
While it is true that many parts on the 130th Anniversary sax are shared parts with other models of Selmer Paris saxophones, there are an outstanding number of truly unique parts that were made exclusively for this tribute model. From the octave mechanism to the unique bracings, truly custom keyguards and even the all metal finger touches, the 130th Anniversary model is a truly unique saxophone worthy of being called a “Limited Edition”. This model was further rounded out with the use of white pads without resonators, paying tribute to the original saxophone designs.
This model was further rounded out with the use of white pads without resonators, paying tribute to the original saxophone designs. Don’t let that dissuade you. Normally, resonator-less saxophones tend to play overtly mellow and a hair stuffy… but not this horn! Selmer is using a unique, modern pad that is far firmer than traditional pads. This helps the entire pad absorb less acoustically while reflecting more tonally out. This horn is big, rich, mellow and resonant while having impeccable response and intonation! This is absolutely one of Selmer’s best saxophones they have ever created!
Please note the body of this horn is not silver plating, but rather a unique lacquer made from crushed pearls.
