Maxtone Alto Saxophone Vintage Late 90s. Includes hard case.This alto sax is used has some tarnish, scratches especially around the E# keypad. This sax, suprisingly sounds awesome for a student level sax. Comes with neck strap and Vito II mouthpiece. I can play it top to bottom but the low Bb and B can use some adjusting. The pads are good and have metal resonators. Selling as is. I used 2 mouthpieces on it with a vandoren green tenor reed #3 ( my preference). Again, very suprised it sounded better than my Buescher but it did. The mouthliece that comes with it allowed me to growl, scream some altissimos but the very low bottom end was more difficult. The other one i tried( not for sale) prevented me from getting the altissimos but the low end was very solid. Goes to show you that reed and setup make a big difference. There is a key guard as seen in the pics that is coming loose. 2 of three anchors are good, the one has detached where it was soldered on. Does not affect playability. The octive mechanism does work as seen in pics.
This sax would be a great start for a student or a good back up. May need to replace or add some key cork but it plays as is and would benefit it to have some adjustment. Any questions please ask prior to bidding and payment is expected immediately upon purchase. Thank you and God Bless.
