    These shoes were the gold standard of approach shoes, originally retailed for 0. I love them, but they seem to fit tighter these days. They've hiked many miles on approach trails, held up well with a heavy pack, and performed well while climbing on easy terrain.
    I resoled them a year or so ago through Rock and Resole.
    The wear on the sides is largely cosmetic wear from standing in aiders.
    I run in roomy running shoes at size 12, these are snug which means for stable climbing if you're the right size. The lacing does allow for a ton of flexibility.
