    HORSESHOE SHAPE ~ VANITY CASE ~ BLACK ENAMEL
    Black enamel horshoe-shaped vanity case.  powder & rouge compartments. The top had three small, shallow percussion marks, the reverse has a elliptical dent and a stain on the brass closure.The clasp and hinge work well.   The inside shows age.  There is a rouge compartment, with rouge and an empty powder compartment.  This style compact is pictured on page 305 of 'Vintage Ladies Compacts' by Roselyn Gerson.  Thought to be about 1940s
