Chuck Helfand  believes less than 1,500 sets were issued.
The 1 Sucre is rare.  KM does list a five piece set but I believe that is an error.
The individual coins were removed from the plastic holder and placed in sulfur-free, 2 x 2 envelopes many years ago.  Probably not too long after they were issued.
Welz Munz Katalog and Numismatica Ecuadtoriana both state that the one sucre of 2000 is only found in sets but some have been broken out of the sets and sold as individual pieces as it is the most valuable of the six pieces.
See Anderson's Numismatic History of Ecuador, pages 264 and 265, for more detailed comments on the coinage of 2000.  I think
Included with this 1 Sucre of 2000 will be the other five denominations of the year 2000 and the original Banco Central holder.  These coins are all in superlative condition - I don't think they reach specimen quality but they are probably selected first strikes and have retained near 100 percent of their original brilliance.
