Everything about this entry level professional horn screams quality and class. As a long time sax player I have encountered some of the best modern and vintage saxophones, but I have never played one that’s modern with total vintage feel. The sound this Buffet produces reminded me of Conn 6M or King20, but she handles as seamless as a modern Cannonball, with easily achievable lows. The volume range was also very impressive, and all registers played in tune. You may think I’m just throwing out these facts to make a sale, but you can read some reputable reviews online, and if you have a chance go test this out before ordering it, you’d be blown away (no pun intended).
The sax is in MINT CONDITION, you could might as well call it brand new, only played it 2 times for a recording (the vintage tone just didn’t work out). The engravings are stunning on a rich honey gold lacquer, and double bar on low keys makes this as good as any horn out there. Comes in a quality built case and even the original box.
Do not buy this instrument if you’re looking for David Sanborn type edgy or Gerald Albright’s high treble tone. This sax produces more like Charlie Parker, Paul Desmond dark breathy sound with modern luxury look and modern ergonomics (including high F# key). She can also open up and give you a very loud growl if you push her, and a rich sounding altissimo.
