    Description

    ANTOINETTE STERLING
This is a signed letter by Antoinette Sterling (1850-1904),
a famous classical singer of the 19th century.
This letter is handwritten on a piece of stationery
    on which her street address
    in London is printed
(3 Stanhope Place, Marble Arch W.; see scans).
The letter is written on both sides of the stationery.
She ran out of room on this rather small piece of paper,
which resulted in her finishing her message and signing
her name at the same place where she began writing
(see scans- her signature is next to the printed address).
The writing is NOT faded; the black ink still stands out well
(although I find her penmanship at times difficult to decipher).
This letter is signed simply "Antoinette" (see scan 2).
The letter was folded in half at the time of writing.
Unfolded, the letter is about 3 1/2" by 9".
It is in very good condition, with a crease where it has been
folded, and some notations in pencil by a previous collector.
