    Description

Almost Vintage 1974 ARMSTRONG 3000 Alto Sax. Serial #8657.
This is a wonderful Armstrong alto that has been cleaned and adjusted. It plays very good with a clean, full tone on the included Brilhart Special Ebolin mouthpiece. This is an awesome mouthpiece for any alto sax. Pads, felts, and corking were replaced where needed and the springs show quick response. Cosmetically, there are no major dents; just some dings on the left side of the bow and the bottom back of the horn (pics #9 & #10). There are scuffing and scratches (see pictures) throughout from normal use; common for a 47 year old horn. I found a similar Armstrong 3000 with serial #88XX from a blog while researching this horn's age. That #88XX Armstrong was 42 years old and the blog was 5 years old; hence the 47 year age. I could not find a site with Armstrong's sax serial numbers. Included with this fine student alto is the sturdy vintage case. It's seen better days, but is a strong secure case. Also included is a new microfiber polishing cloth, a used neckstrap, and the standard mouthpiece w/ligature, cap, and new Rico Plasticover reed.

After reviewing the pictures again, I noticed that I had overlooked two missing screws for the lower back keyguard. Rest assured - they're there now. Thanks.
