Ho Chi Minh Trail - 1970 - US INVASION OF CAMBODIA (Illegal Incusion)
For the Viet Cong this was one of the most important areas of operation throughout the entire field of conflict. This was the last stage of the Ho Chi Minh Trail before goods and operatives entered South Vietnam from North Vietnam and Laos through Cambodia.
In 1970 the US Military Invaded Cambodia in an attempt to destroy the Viet Cong and their allies the Khmer Rouge in this area.
Whilst the invasion (Illegal Incursion) gained great momentum and threatened to remove the Communist threat in this area, public opinion in the US eventually prevailed and the US Military pulled their conventional forces out of Cambodia before their objective could be realized.
