    American Revolution Memorial Day Burial Ground Receipt and Request Shirley, Massachusetts
    In May of 1895, a request
    was
    sent by
    John Hazan on behalf of
    the
    Descendants
    o
    f
    the American Revolution to a Mr. Abel Page Walker requesting funds to maintain the
    Revolutionary
    War
    cemetery in
    Shirley.
    Mr. Walker’
    s g
    reat grandfather
    was a Revolutionary soldier in Captain Henry Haskell’s company in Colonel Jam
    e
    s Prescott’s regiment. He
    was
    one of the Revolutionary soldiers who marched from Shirley on th
    e alarm of April 19, 1775.
    He is
    buried in
    the Shirley, Massachusetts Revolutionary War
    cemetery.
    Mr. Abel Walker responded with the requested Contribution and has received a handwritten
    thank you and
    receipt dated May 28, 1895 from Mr. Hazan.
    The original printed form, the receipt and the sta
    mped envelope are all included and in excellent condition
