    Description

    Offered is this antique business letter on letterhead from the Columbus Iron Works Co. of Columbus, Georgia. The letter is handwritten and dated June 20, 1876. The company began in the 1850s, was bought by the W. C. Bradley Co. in the 1920s, began producing "Char-Broil" grills in the 1950s and eventually changed its name to Char-Broil. This may be a rare find; at the time of original listing, although there were numerous photos and other items from this well-known company listed on eBay, I could not find another antique letter for sale.
    The letter, on very thin paper, is approx. 11" x 8 1/4". It has a lot of wear, as shown, with some parts along the edges and the upper-left corner missing. The paper has browned and there are numerous stains but the text is still readable.
