    , 1762-1816, George Washington’s personal secretary from 1784-99, mentions the ship Adriana with captain John Robertson in a 1793 letter to Washington, “We had three arrivals here yesterday from England, and the principal accounts brought by them will be found in the enclosed papers.”, letter to George Washington, dated Philadelphia, April 10, 1793, in the respective footnote 4, “
    The three ships that arrived at Philadelphia on 9 April were the George Barclay, Captain Collet, and the Harmony, Captain Osman, both from London, plus the
